APSCPCR Hosts Autism Awareness Event, Advocating Inclusive Education in Arunachal Pradesh

The Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSCPCR) organized the ‘Awareness & Observation of Autism Month’ event at the Golden Jubilee Banquet Hall, Itanagar, on April 28. The program aimed to spread awareness and promote inclusivity for children with autism. 

Hon’ble Governor Lt. Gen K T Parnaik (Retd.) attended as the Chief Guest, alongside Hon’ble Minister Shri Kento Jini as the Guest of Honour. They emphasized the importance of understanding neurodiversity and ensuring equal opportunities for children with special needs. The event featured distribution of teaching and learning kits, aids, and appliances to children, along with interactions with parents, educators, and medical specialists

The Governor highlighted the need for inclusive education, calling for mandatory appointment of special educators in schools and better support systems for children with autism. He also proposed PhD-level research on autism to enhance academic study and policy development.
