IPR Minister Calls for Stronger Media Policies

The Information & Public Relations (IPR) Minister Nyato Dukam has emphasized the proper implementation of media policies to ensure effective communication of government initiatives. During the first consultative committee meeting of the Departments of IPR & Printing and Stationery, he stressed the importance of making these departments more visible and vibrant, so their contributions to the state are widely recognized.

A key focus of the discussions was modernization and capacity-building, addressing infrastructure, human resources, and resource allocation to enhance efficiency. The minister also highlighted the need for a web offset printing machine to facilitate the printing of NCERT books, aiming to curb the shortage of school textbooks in the state.

Additionally, Dukam assured officials that the concerns raised during the meeting would be taken up with Chief Minister Pema Khandu. He encouraged innovative approaches in public communication and urged the departments to keep him informed about their activities.

Committee members and MLAs Rode Bui and Namgey Tsering acknowledged the significant role of the departments in the state’s development and pledged full cooperation and support for their improvement.
